Mmmmmmmmm brownies. I have seriously got to stop listening to these things at work. I had a craving for brownies all day. They sounded Sooooooo good. I've really got to try those cheesecakes too. They sound much easier than I thought. Have a good one!
Your deserts sound so good. I wish I had the patience to bake. I don't seem to have too much of a problem in the cooking area, as long as it's easy and fast. I really thought baking would be so much effort, but you made it sound really good and really tasty. I'm actually going to pick up the ingrediants tonight and give it a shot.
Sorry, this comment is so delayed you guys...sometimes a podcasting vacation is necessary, but we're happy to return, and especially to satisfy the hunger of our awesome listeners!
Todd, I hope you finally managed to satisfy your chewy brownie craving. I usually crave fried stuff like jalapeno poppers, fries or nachos after a long night of drinking...Mmmmmmm, nachos........stay tuned for some podcasting nachos in the near future :)
Chickee, wassup? Out of our 2 recipes taste test, these ones made with cocoa were our fave. The cheesecakes were delish too! I am totally going to keep that cheesecake recipe to make when we have friends over some time. They were super easy to make, and the taste and consistency were amazing. Just make sure you have all the ingredients at room temperature for the cheesecake. The only thing I'd probably change about the cheesecake recipe is to use less sugar in the crust, and too make sure the crust gets better distributed up the sides of the muffin tin. I didn't spread it around enough in some, so it ended up being too thick, for my liking in parts.
Fellow canadian, howz it goin? I'm excited we have some listeners up north, having grown up in Toronto, and gone to school in New Brunswick. I definitely miss various restaurant fare from both of those places that I just cannot find in California. I'm curious to find out if you gave either of those recipes a shot and how they turned out for you. They key to baking is to follow the recipe, something you can avoid in cooking. Baking needs to be precise, like chemistry, so chances are if you follow the recipe, you're all good. Although, I did just say I would recommend reducing the amount of sugar in the cheesecake crust, but that's cool since there's no chemical reaction taking place with those ingredients, but there is in the filling and the brownies as you cook them. If you see this comment, and are insterested in sharing your experience, please do :)
Mmmmmmmmm, brownie hype! To test the recipe we sent to Dawn and Drew, I made a couple of brownies in the mini-muffin containers. Those were super good, and easier to eat than honkin' down on a big piece of brownie...well, there's less guilt associated with them anyway since they're so small. You can't eat just one :)
