Tonight we're just making munchies to eat while we watch a movie. Being Oscar night and happening to have a movie from Netflix with an oscar nominee, we thought Movie Munchies Night Take One would be a good fit. So tonight we're cooking up some movie muchies and watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

On tonight's menu was some crabbies, hogs in a sleeping bag, cheddar cheese popcorn and turkey wraps with chipotle mayonaise, yum! We managed to get in a few shout outs this show to the happy family at Worst Music You've Ever Heard...WHYME, the One True Dan Tripp, and we're cooking it up for Michael Butler. We're going to upload the podcast for now and watch the movie. The show notes, recipe and some more info about tonights meal will be added shortly.

Hey, thank you so much for the shout-out! It's so nice to get comments/feedback... especially from nice folk like y'all. ;)

I took some pictures of an open manhole cover with a guy working in it for ya... it was kinda similar to those loading elevators. It's here: http://www.dantripp.com/sayyum/Personally, I can't believe how appropriate it was to be mentioned on a show about "munchies." (I'll spare you a picture of my belly and my sexy manboobs.)

Hey Todd! Coady thanks you for the support. I've been trying to tell him its just a part of becoming a "wise" old man. We're totally ready to ditch the cheap wireless. Its probably a battery issue, but the things don't let us know and its just too unpredictable. We'll probably play around with them a bit more, but I agree that the wired mics sound a lot better.

Thanks Dan for the manhole pictures. Gotta watch your step in the city don't ya? And if you eat munchies and drink beer like us then you've gotta watch your belly too...or with podcasting I guess nobody's 'watching' anything so let it hang.

From the article in The New York Times, front page, 2.19.2005, through March, I have become so energized with Podcasting; it's like you've invited me into your lives, and my starting with you, with SAY YUM, was perfect. Your podcasts are very special. I've been telling everyone I know, about podcasting and SAY YUM.

My best friend lives in San Rafael, CA and I live in White Plains, NY, just north of NYC.

He is a caterer, a drumer(Latin jazz is his specialty), and we met because I just happened to sit next to him at a club meeting at
The Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, NY, were I was going to school (in 1973).

I bet he would be interested in listening to SAY YUM and giving you some interesting suggestions such as how to deal with frozen puff pastry.

Sooooo, A'll talk to you sometime soon, and stay YUM, and have fun!

I'm pretty much stating this in all of today's correspondance, but sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys...

Thank you so much fortifiedwino, for the tip on the tomato cream sauce. We tend not to eat pasta too frequently, trying to keep our carb intake on the lower side...not to say we don't eat our fair share of other carbs (I have a weakness for tortilla chips).

I used diced tomatoes, but the microwave tip sounds great. I can't wait to give your tips a try the next time we're craving some pasta. We've got some once fresh cheese tortallini awaiting us for use sometime in our freezer, and would love to give the sauce another go, and be able to post the recipe, including your tips (with credit to you of course).

Thanks again! It's awesome to learn something new.

Whoops, I published that last comment before I was done!

Anywho, Neil, as you may have heard in our "Sweetcast" episode, you really made our day...and folks like yourself are still making it. We're so happy to share our love of cooking and food with folks, and are even happier that people like yourself enjoy it! You have excellent timing, and I'm not sure if we would have made it to our Sweetcast if you hadn't received your great comment that day. Please keep in touch and thanks again :)
