Say Yum 2005-02-12 - Guest Chefs Kevin and Paloma

Tonight our friends Kevin and Paloma decided to come over and cook us dinner. We should not that they both cook for a living. I tried calling them professionals, but Kevin said he liked the definition of amateur better, "one who engages in a pursuit, study, science, or sport as a pastime rather than as a profession." Check out the slideshow of pics from the evening

We've got quite a meal tonight starting with calamari and clams. Our main course will consist of surf and turf; eye of the round steak and crab pancakes. The music is only background tonight, but we're listening to Galactic and Topaz. Enjoy...

Hey, I think you have a great idea, but I think you should "mike" your chef, because he sounds like he is in the other room. I have a son who is a trained chef and we will be doing something like this but any way good luck

Thanks for the feedback. You're right we do need to "mike" our guest chefs next time we do that. Normally both Kris and I wear headsets with mics, but we've only got two. With the two guest chefs we had to resort to an old Plantronics boom mic we had laying around.

Based on Chef Kev's suggestions we're looking into getting UHF wireless mics, but still shopping around for the best bang for the buck. If anybody has any recommendations please let us know.

Hey guys! Love your podcast...I agree though, it was super hard to hear this last podcast. I had to crank up the volume really loud to hear the guest chefs, which made Devan very loud in comparison. I do love the pictures that went along with the podcast though, it was fun to watch while listening to you guys cook. Also, there is a lot of mic noise...like someone is playing with the mic all through the podcast. So that can be a bit annoying. Just want to give you guys some feedback to make the show better. :) I love the pictures of your dog podcasting haha! Remember, say YUM! Hehe. Sincerely, Todd.
